WorldKinetics Cabinet handle

What WorldKinetics checks

Eight checks for the starting handle. A ninth checks the grip-and-thumb-rest refinement. These are the rules, not a claim that your current design passed.

  1. One valid solidThe geometry forms one connected, valid shape.
  2. Mounting interfacePreserve the mounting pads and 96 mm spacing.
  3. Overall sizeStay within the allowed envelope and 140 mm maximum length.
  4. Finger clearanceKeep at least 25 mm of empty finger space.
  5. Grip continuityKeep the grip connected across the required sections.
  6. STEP exportReopen the CAD file and compare it with the checked geometry.
  7. STL exportCheck that the mesh is connected, watertight and matches the solid within tolerance.
  8. Editable sourceRerun the delivered source and compare the recreated geometry.
  9. Requested refinementVerify the broader grip and thumb rest while preserving the accepted starting design.

Astra cannot lower these thresholds or approve the result. Live pass/fail results appear under Design checks for the displayed revision. These checks do not certify physical fit or strength.

Get it made

Your next steps after downloading. Supplier guidance is available before approval; CAD downloads still require an approved version.

  1. Download the complete package. In the recorded demo, select After and Complete approved package · ZIP. In live mode, approve your design, then choose Download handoff package.
  2. Unzip and upload the CAD. Use candidate.step for a CAD quote or preview.stl for a 3D-print quote. Units are millimeters. Share PROTOTYPE-BRIEF.txt and RFQ.txt with the supplier.
  3. Get a quote. Confirm material, quantity, finish and delivery location. Compare part cost, setup fees, shipping and taxes, plus production time and transit time separately.
  4. Order a prototype on the supplier’s site. Check its fit before ordering more. Mounting hardware is unspecified; geometry checks do not establish physical strength or manufacturing readiness.
What’s inside the complete ZIP
candidate.step
Editable solid CAD. Send to a supplier or open in a compatible CAD application.
preview.stl
Triangle mesh. Open in a slicer or upload for a print quote, using millimeters.
source.py and editable.py
Python CAD source for editing and recreating the model. Requires the recorded build123d environment and input files; not printer instructions.
PROTOTYPE-BRIEF.txt
Read first: approved design, requirements and prototype limitations.
RFQ.txt and RFQ.json
The quote request and preferences for this approved revision. RFQ.txt can be copied into a supplier inquiry.
package.json
File inventory and hashes for checking package contents.
evidence/
acceptance.json, manifest.json, requirements.json, checks.json and reference.json. Refinements also include initial-acceptance.json and initial-manifest.json.
input/
reference.step and datums.json retain the mounting reference. A refinement also includes baseline.step, its approved starting geometry.

No printer-ready G-code or dimensioned manufacturing drawing is included. Keep all files together for recreating the CAD.

Copy a supplier request

Attach the CAD, PROTOTYPE-BRIEF.txt and RFQ.txt from the same ZIP. This template asks for a quote; it does not place an order.

Choose a supplier

Actual cost and delivery require a supplier quote. Nothing is uploaded or sent automatically.

Cost and turnaround: what to expect

Most prices and lead times appear after uploading your CAD and choosing material, process and quantity. Production time and shipping time are different.

Protolabs publishes a general starting price around US$95 and 3D printing as fast as one day. These are provider starting claims, not a quote or delivery promise for this handle. Eligibility, material, quantity and shipping affect the result.
